The Flying School is located at the Northern Colorado Airport (KFNL) in Loveland, CO. We're right at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and enjoy over 300 days of clear blue skies. In practical terms, this equates to a quicker timeline for you to become a licensed pilot.
I'm sure that it will come as no surprise to anyone that aviation fuel prices have skyrocketed. The Flying School has tried to absorb the additional costs, but it has gotten to a point where we can no longer bear the burden. To manage this expense, we will be affecting a fuel surcharge beginning June 1, 2022. The surcharge will be based on a base price of $5.00/gallon (the price we were paying this time last year) including taxes and fees. The difference in current fuel costs versus the base cost for each flight will be added to every invoice, it is currently $2.35/gallon. Our costs change each time The Jet Center receives a fuel delivery, so our surcharge will change with that timeline. Ronda in our admin office can tell you what the current surcharge is at any given time. It will be a line item on every invoice and statement.
We understand that flight training is already expensive, and we will do everything in our power to minimize the cost and length of this surcharge. Once fuel prices come back down to a reasonable level, we will eliminate the surcharge. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
